Christmas is around the corner and one of the best bits about Christmas are the cakes and treats! I’m not a fruit cake fan to be honest but I love all the other goodies. I also the fact that it’s totally acceptable to have cake for breakfast over the festive season – anyone else!?
If you’re a fruit cake fan, now is the time to make it so that you can feed it up with brandy until you’re ready to decorate it closer to Christmas. A couple of my favourites include Mary Berry’s and Delia’s Christmas cakes.
A chocolate yule is a must and this is the ONLY recipe you need – it’s all about the chocolate Lindt ganache which is out of this world!
I love baking with the kids and gingerbread biscuits are the best for this, and so festive! This Peggy Porschen recipe is perfect for either biscuits or if you want to go all out and make a gingerbread house this year!
I have loads of Rachel Allen baking books and her recipes are always good – if you fancy making your own mince pies this year here’s her recipe for you to try. Otherwise, buying some nice mince meat and pastry and assembling them is another great option if you want to make them but don’t have the time to make everything!
I love love fudge and this Christmas sprinkle topped version is so easy to make and also really good to bag up and give as gifts too!
Finally if you’re partial to some Baileys this no-bake cheesecake is so good and a great dessert over Christmas!
