Hello! Have you been thinking about attending a class but not sure if it’s right for you? It can also feel a bit daunting if you’ve never attended a class before and a bit worried about what to expect. All our classes are rated by beginners, intermediate and advanced – have a read of the class description and if it states that previous experience is necessary in a certain area and you’re not sure, get in touch. You want to attend the class that is best suited to you – if you come to a class that is too advanced you won’t get the most ofHere’s a quick low down on what happens in our classes and how the day goes. Our doors open 15 minutes before classes start, if you’re early there are lots of coffee places on the Kilburn High Road or West End Lane that you can grab a coffee in. We generally have a quick chat, grab a tea or coffee and then take our seats at either 10am or 7pm (depending on the class) and do introductions so that you can meet everyone and the teacher.
Everything is provided in our classes – cakes, equipment, tools, boxes to take home your cakes & aprons – all you need to bring is a packed lunch. We like to jam pack our classes so there’s lots to get through and lots of opportunities to ask questions. We generally start with making flowers or decorations, picking out colour schemes or prepping cakes (if you’re in an evening class). Practice makes perfect so our classes are there for you learn all the essential skills and techniques so that you can go home and put these into practice.
If you’re on a day class we’ll break for lunch (we recommend bringing a packed lunch rather than going out to find something that you fancy and missing lunch) and chat cake, share pictures and have a little break before the afternoon session begins where we start to put your cakes together.
Once the class has finished and your cakes are ready you’re more than welcome to take lots of photos of your cakes and you with them! We want to make sure that everyone leaves happy with their cake and worksheet, and if you have any questions after class you’re more than welcome to send us an email with your queries.
Look forward to seeing at one of our classes soon!
